ABOUT ERIN 2017-04-17T20:14:11+00:00

“The only source of knowledge is experience.”

Albert Einstein

Erin has been immersed in the entertainment industry for over fifteen years. After early training at ED5 International, she went straight to London and then onto cruise ships, travelling across the world, even setting foot in Antarctica.

Returning home, Erin was accepted at the prestigious West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, completing her Bachelors Degree in Music Theatre, and attending the Neil Semer Summer Vocal Institute in Coesfeld, Germany.

Erin has gone on to perform in back-to-back tours of major productions, understudying major and lead roles in the Australian and NZ tour of Mary Poppins, Xanadu the Musical, the Australian tour of Hot Shoe Shuffle and the Australian tour of the 25th Anniversary production of Les Miserables.

Seen extensively on stages across Melbourne and Sydney, performance highlights include Hedger and Nicholson’s Playground, Twisted Broadway, Homegrown, Broadway Unplugged, and one for the bucket list, Vision Australia’s Carols By Candlelight.

Erin has taught at schools all across Sydney and Melbourne, such as Spectrum Dance, The Space, Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance, MDX, Entertainment 88, Flashdance Performing Arts, Dance Central and Sydney Girls High School.

Erin’s teaching experience includes:

  • Junior drama to Diploma level acting
  • Improvisation
  • Song repertoire and interpretation
  • Voice, accent and dialect
  • Music Theatre and audition masterclasses
  • Preparation for talent shows such as X Factor

“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.”

Brene Brown

As well as vocal and acting technique, Erin incorporates the work of researcher and storyteller Dr. Brene Brown on vulnerability into her teaching. She believes it’s important not just to truly connect to the work, but also for our own growth and connection as humans in this crazy world. Erin encourages her students to be vulnerable, brave and bold and to push past their comfort zone.

“Find out where the joy resides, and give it a voice.”

Robert Louis Stevenson

When not being a total theatre nerd, Erin is a voracious reader and a fairly terrible but enthusiastic painter. She finds joy in fabulous gift wrapping, researching pretty much anything, a great cup of tea and good grammar. Her dislikes include hipster pictures of animal heads on human bodies and people who spell milk, “mylk”. Just don’t do it guys.
